Consecutive Interpreting (Verbal)
Consecutive interpreting, the most commonly used form of interpreting, is always of great importance. This is because, in a conversation between two people, the interpreter has a crucial role to play in conveying what is said fully and accurately, ensuring that the intended message is conveyed correctly. For this reason, we employ interpreters with extensive experience in consecutive interpreting.

During consecutive interpreting, interpreters sit at the meeting table alongside the participants and do not use any technical equipment. The process involves the interpreter listening to the speaker’s words, translating them into the target language, and conveying them to the other audience members. Consecutive interpreting is generally used for short meetings, such as sales transactions at a notary’s office, power of attorney transactions, company incorporations, or technical matters. Compared to written translation, consecutive interpreting requires greater attention and full mastery of the target language. Whilst written translation allows for the opportunity to go back and check and correct the text later, there is no such opportunity during consecutive interpreting. An interpreter who lacks full proficiency in listening, speaking and pronunciation may cause participants to misunderstand one another and lead to undesirable outcomes.
